This track was created by using different homemade equipment along with field recordings to simulate the sounds of transportation mechanics, the relationship between frequencies, and the Dispersion Relationship. A formula that is specific to wave propagation when the angular frequency ω cannot be chosen independently from the wavenumber k. Using these guidelines, sounds were engineered through prototypes of homemade machines as well as sample recordings from found objects. "There Was Light "(x → 4 x (1 – x)" "is the fourth part of a multipart series of academic composition focusing on the integration of mathematical computation, mechanical engineering, and the practices of musique concrete. All recordings were recorded to tape and now placed online. Exposure to this track should be played at loud volume in a lossless format (available to download).

There is over 17 hours of material for "There Was Light "(x → 4 x (1 – x)", separated digitally for a more desirable and digestible listening experiences. Very little mastering when into the tape to digital transfer to maintain the intentional maturity of the medium.

Instrumentation and composition of this piece was made by studying different resistances of metals and house hold objects. Signifying that from an anthropologic mentality, humans have been trained to not associate spesific sounds with daily events deemed undesirable; transportation on a subway specifically for this piece. Field recordings were performed from 2012 through 2013. Recording on tape was then spliced by hand to sample specific traits of mechanical resonance.Gradients of sharp frequencies are used to counter act with lower frequencies.

First production of "There Was Light "(x → 4 x (1 – x)" was included on an album made for scientific instruments. All journals and drawings are available upon request for full detail on the piece.
